WRESTLING INTRODUCTION SERIES – 3 WEEKENDS – Boys & Girls

The Trumbull High School Coaching Staff & Varsity wrestlers will be conducting a 3 Saturday morning introduction to wrestling. The program will be directed towards 4^th – 8^th graders. Our purpose is to introduce the sport to potential wrestlers in a fun and non-competitive manner.

Wrestling is a “Sport for All”. It creates an even playing field since wrestlers compete against others in size/age-based format.

REASONS TO WRESTLE:

1.      You will compete against people your own size.

2.      It is a complimentary sport to other sports like football (The Head Trumbull Wrestling Coach has about 30 years of experience coaching football), Rugby, Track, & Lacrosse.

3.      For girls it is one of the fastest growing high school and collegiate sports. There is actually Women’s Olympic Wrestling.

4.      The youth club for Trumbull is very well established, and begins November 20^th. This is great opportunity to decide if you would like to participate.

5.      Wrestling is fun. Put kids in a room by themselves, and what do they do? Wrestle.

We will have 3 sessions of Introduction to Wrestling.

            October – 14^th, 21^st, & 28^th

The time will be – 9:00am – 10:30am at the Trumbull High School Auxiliary Gymnasium.

The Coaches will be the Varsity Coaches for the High School. The staff will be augmented with Varsity Wrestlers (several of whom are State Place winners).

The cost is $35 per athlete paid to Trumbull Continuing Education.
