Your search has brought you to a course from a previous catalog that is no longer available for registration. Please click here to access our active catalog to browse current course offerings.

A brief overview of the process for becoming a licensed foster/adoptive parent in CT. This free one-night course will focus on foster care and adoption of children in the CT child welfare system. Information regarding prerequisites for families, and the children needing to be placed in foster/pre-adoptive homes will be discussed. We will address the difference between regular foster care and higher levels of foster care. We will explain the current trend in adoption to place children in legal-risk pre-adoptive placements.

Information will be available for all foster care programs serving Fairfield County and licensed by the state of CT. This is the first step in becoming a licensed foster parent. Periodically, the instructor will stop to answer questions from attendees.

There is no cost for this class. Last day to register is October 13.

A Zoom link with instructions for entering the meeting as well as a copy of the presenter’s PowerPoint will be sent to registered attendees a few days prior to the meeting.
